gimme a bjike
Holland is clean, flat, and very tolerant. Tolerant in the sense of being indifferent to ladies with short hair holding hands and that sort of thing. The trains run on time. It's hard to imagine what it would mean to be eccentric. My paper went very well. I managed to use the words 'excrement', 'masturbatory', 'arse'. It must be said that Beckett has that effect.
We discussed this somewhat tricky Badiou text, especially with regard to the 'Humanity function': H(x). I argued (with massive amounts of textual evidence, of course) that Badiou in this piece (and elsewhere) reveals himself, ultimately, to be an anti-Lacanian arch-humanist-feminist, which was at least an amusing description for further discussion....oh the laughs we had!
By the way, in case anyone is reading Badiou's Theoretical Writings (Continuum), they left the postface out! You can find it here. You'll go mad thinking you've missed it otherwise, as there's a reference to it in the preface.
