No, it's not bloody me. If you put all the current pictures of women jumping up and looking happy end to end you could probably reach Swindon...the Swindon on Mars that is!
Oops, forgot to mention this before. If anyone is still around, I'm giving a paper tomorrow night for the Marxism In Culture series at Senate House.
Friday 18 Dec ‘One Dimensional Woman: A Critique of Contemporary Consumer Feminism’.
5.30pm, Wolfson Room at the Institute of Historical Research in Senate House, Malet St, London WC1E 7HU.
Bits of it will be based on the book, though hopefully I'll get a chance to include some discussion of McRobbie's The Aftermath of Feminism and perhaps some Firestone as well. We'll just have to see how today goes...ahem...With luck there'll be a powerpoint with lots of horrible images of girls being drunk and that sort of thing. When I say culture, I mean culture! None of your art stuff and whatnot.
