I do plan on replacing this page with something more explanatory soon... I have been blogging as Smunk since the last entry here. :::

What's going on here?

I'm not sure, to be honest. Right now we've got Smunk, which is heavily work-in-progressy, but I don't have a great deal of time to do anything fancy on it right now. But, as I say on that page, there may be mp3s available soon. Then there is Day 2 / Pete Wiseman. Pete has taken up the Blogger challenge with impressive zeal, making his page the most lively on Cinestatic Research at the moment. Freakuency is the latest to enter the fray, and I hope that Aled's postings will continue.

Next, there's the old-skool. Gaijin has the most stuff. A couple of the audio downloads don't work any more, and all of the information is painfully out of date. But the Gaijin @ Peoplesound link still applies.

Someone you won't hear anywhere else is Dave. He's a junky slacker from Macclesfield. But not really. He was a student when he did this stuff.

Still sort of hoping Beatmasta Bill and Duncan will decide to take the blogging bull by its electric horns. But who can say? :::

On Entropy
The horror of bedroom recording!

The decision was made. Darkness had to be recorded. Quietness had to be subtly breached and nuances allowed to grow from mysterious metaphysical borderlands. A state of calm was reached in the dark and the artist was alone with his most sensitive appendices. Stringed things tied to electric things with wires. The rhythmic reference points were set in motion and barely audible waves of attention made their way, unaware of the artist's intention to trap them in unforgetting circuitry, unaware that they would be immortal. But something wasn't right.

Where's my fucking rosin? It must be around here somewhere! This would sound better if I had some rosin on this bow! This room's a fucking dump! I can't find anything! I have to stay in the zone but my physical environment is strangling me! Piles upon piles of things of every meaning and it might be under any one!

And so it came to be that the artist decided to go on the internet and look into buying some shelves. Probably from Argos.

Back at work and it was a funny few days. This section will be thinning now, and pertinent information about my own recording progress placed within the Smunk section. :::

Having finished work, I will now be turning my attentions more directly towards the process of composition. Which, at first, will involve re-abandoning perfectionism and leaving it to its place. At the end of the process. :::

I've decided to move to France in the New Year. Where cross-fertilisation is expected instead of feared, English musicians are considered cool and hip-hop has some presence. So I need to brush up on my French. Je veux faire la dodo. Je voudrais fumer du shit en France. Etc... :::

Beatmasta Bill (William) and MC4Z (Peter).
My two fantastic brothers. These are pictures so far. But they're both talented musicians. Give Beatmasta DJ slots (you won't be disappointed) and Peter loads of money to make a film. Aww, go on! :::

Just added a new section to this music section for Pete (formerly of Zedovai). There should be a discography and some cool graphics soon. And he's got a blog. Pete's art was the basis of the now extinct hand-having anteater thing that used to welcome people to Cinestatic Research (before making them leave in frustration!). :::
