Some Nice Websites To Pass The Time

Quasimondo - A couple of nice Flash bits, particularly the page turning interface (see the "Best of" section for more, including the "Candle").

I saw this story about Bush=Homer Simpson. I felt strangely angry about the destruction of 'my' Queen's beautiful gardens by those twatty Americans - so Bush has actually made me have a feeling that coincides with the views of the Mirror, which is very depressing indeed. (On an unrelated note...) I have a Bush=Hitler theory that I can't quite articulate, but the more I read about him, the less abstract it seems... That ugly undercurrent of ignorant "us and them" hatred - (suppressed by political correctness yet ever present ) brought to the surface by the smug snidey asides that constitute the only sign of any intelligence whatsoever. But I feel unqualified to speak about politics, and I've probably got the CIA after me now.

See In Passing for some lovely little quotes from random people. Eg:
"There are so many people working on solving small problems. I figure if we all worked together to solve a big one, the little ones would just fall into place."
"And I still think it's ridiculous."
"I'm not talking about defeating entropy, I'm talking about making it our bitch."
--Two guys in line for Invertigo at Great America

Closer to home (if you live in the UK...) here's some 'dry british wit': The dullest blog in the world - just don't spoil it by reading the comments. More 'wiblogs' (as if the word 'blog' wasn't already bleuugh enough) on the same site - I didn't stay long enough to work out how ironic the religious fixation was, but I liked Neil's one, spotting such things as
"Tonight on ITV1: 11:00pm - ITV News at Ten " and showing how a website can be used as a source of support in times of failure (of a driving test).

Finally: My scheme that I work on at work "ELLC Choice Homes", a social housing allocations system which uses a website targetted at the least affluent members of the community, was accessed on an Amiga last month! I couldnae believe it! It's a weird cross section - most users running the AOL Browser (eugh) and Netscape 4 - the polar opposite demographic to Cinestatic, I should think (where everyone seems to have new computers running XP etc). But I digress.

Re: your words on Bush: "undercurrent"?!?!?

Yeah - whatever. This is why I don't write about politics - I don't really pay attention. No new news here.

Template Change

Look - I changed the template a bit. Mainly to make it easier to make changes and to make the pad look like a pad.

Beatboxa

My brother won the Radio 1 Leeds Beatbox Tournament last Wednesday - great stuff! I don't know when it's gonna be broadcast but www.hypedarkproductions.co.uk say they're gonna say when we get to hear it.

Here's a picture of him here.
