On a completely unrelated note: I told your bad Kant joke to various people this evening and they found it funny. Or maybe they found it funnier because I told them that you told me the bad Kant joke.... not sure.

Is this some plot to make me hyper-paranoid? Who are you hanging about with who actually knows me and what the hell are they still doing there? Actually, I've just thought of a couple: Lazy bastards who should have finished their PhD's years ago (with the exception of the ex-member of Psychic TV who somehow blagged a job teaching aesthetics, though probably not on the back of a reference from Genesis P-Orridge). Tell them I said hello.

Back on the subject of the original post.....yeah, I meant to mention the TH reissue: extra tracks are suitably fantastic; you should probably consider purchasing, I would have thought. Question: why on earth would the Heads not put "A Clean Break" on any of the studio albums? It outshines any of the tracks on "77 (bar "Don't Worry About The Government" of course) - and you know what I think of that album.

P.S.: I presume that this information is utterly superflous - and that in even mentioning it I'm commiting just the sort of "you idiot northern bastard, but of course.." faux pas that brought me the ostracisation and general ridicule that previously accompanied the whole Rat/Hedghog incident - but did you know that the Gysin/Burroughs films are now available in their entirety. And that you can get people to send you these things over the interweb? I tell you, its marvellous what these young people can do today.

In fact, I am so touched by how much you miss me that I will spare you the public humiliation of relating the rat/hedgehog incident. Hrrmmm... I think I told it to Heidegger Tom (who has finished) and Dave and to Scott (who is about to finish).

Apparently you're infamous, though when you're mentioned I and I say 'Oh yeah, that guy,' people ask me if I know you and I have to say 'Ermm... well, he's a guy that comments on my blog..... bad jokes and Bataille.' I get lots of strange looks for that.

(Also, ex-Psychic TV member was astonished when I brought up his dark past. Will pass along hellos).

I miss you too Effay! Hell, i miss all af ya. I have to confess that when i told my students the Kant joke, they all just stared sullenly at me. But since that's their default reaction to everything i say, i cannot believe that it is evidence that the joke itself is bad. The joke's intrinsic badness can be established on other grounds, however....
