Looks like the running time is 2:30 which would be a bit short for a "complete series" unless it was cancelled early. Plus the inclusion of bonus material... doesn't look good.

NO, don't get it.
My sister lent me a German release of that on VHS a couple of weeks ago. It is only the clips of Bolan's poorly lipsynched performances, and is nothing short of very, wincingly depressing.
Same 'Mark' time, same 'Mark' channel...
An insight into Bolan's later ideological framework which is best avoided.
On a Hawkwind note, The Deep Fix recordings have been surfacing on soulseek of late (including a recording of 'The Entropy Tango'), and they are incredible.

Thanks Helen. I won't bother then. As a point of information, all the songs were re-recorded for the series and at least some of them were live (e.g. the jam with Bowie), but I don't remember any of them being that spectacular.

Given my twin Hawkwind and Moorcock obsessions, it's no surprise to hear that I am rabid about The Deep Fix. New World's Fair was the first LP I ever bought by mail order. You can download the whole thing for free here, including the extra tracks from the Dojo CD version. Just over a year ago, Voiceprint issued a thing called Roller Coaster Holiday, consisting of demos and alternative versions of the NWF material; that's worth a look. What I'd really like is a bootleg of the Deep Fix playing at Nik Turner's Sphynx's Love In in 1978 (I wouldn't mind the Sphynx set as well). Unfortunately, I don't think that any exist.

Was the series cut short because Bolan was cut short? His appearance with Bowie links him to Bing Crosby - both made their final tv appearance with 'Dangerous' Dave. Yes, Moorcock is everywhere right now, and worth reading - he writes for the Guardian a lot. And there are increasing rumours of an Elric movie, as fantasy is top banana right now.

I think Marc had the decency to finish the series before he popped his clogs, but he would probably have got another series if he hadn't had the accident on Barnes Common.
