Stewart Home on Zizek

He’s so fixated with his identity as an ‘intellectual’ that he’s incapable of real thinking, something which must necessarily be mediated by practice.

yeah, Zizek's an easy target I guess but the deadpanmercilessness makes it funny regardless. I don't suppose Zizek does 'get' Home at all... not entirely sure there's someone there to get - Home's personality seems like his books: full of repeats, rejoinders, rephrases, harsh dichotomies and gentle little swaggers... and he throws intellect around rather more lightly than most, but uses it as a carton of Mace.

at the very least it made me think about going and buying the latest Home novel...

hahaha....briiliant - I particularly enjoyed the use of the witheringly mild epithets 'twit' and 'square' to describe Zizek.
